| An "Academic License" is granted to individuals and institution for "Academic purposes" meaning non-commercial teaching, research, and personal experimentation while attending or employed by an accredited educational institution. Academic purposes expressly excludes commercial uses. Non-profit organizations, public libraries, and all levels of government are untitled to an academic license as long as the data are not sold. | |

| A "Corporate License" allows an unlimited number of copies of state databases to be run on machines owned by the same company or organization. Data generated by TIGOR can be used for commercial purposes. | |
